About Me

Hello, thank you for visiting my page! I am Gisoo Mohandesi, a licensed marriage and family therapist (License #108751), with over (10 years) of professional experience.

As a professional, who is passionate about helping individuals, children, adolescents, and families, I believe that the way to help my clients cultivate well-being, is to understand them as human beings and not just their struggles. I believe we are not defined by our hardships, but rather can learn how to use them towards building self-awareness and enhancing our strengths. My goal is to help clients meet their personal goals in a manner that is empathic, individually-focused, culturally sensitive and minded, and grounded in evidence-based practice. Through a foundation of integrity and trust, I seek to support others in living the quality of life they deserve.

Bio

Gisoo earned a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development from California State University Northridge and later gained her Master’s Degree (2013) from Philips Graduate Institute in Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy. Her interest in supporting children and families led her to an initial traineeship involving providing mental health services for relatives raising at-risk children. With this experience as her base, Gisoo went on to work for the Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) and the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to offer individual and family therapy services.
